ClickTale, Conversions &
Usability
What is ClickTale?
ClickTale is a marketing tool that tells you more about your
web visitors than virtually any other analytics system. In
fact it can be like watching over the shoulder of someone on
your site so you see
- where they take the cursor
- which links they click
- even how far down the web page they scroll!
By observing what people do you can adjust the layout of
your web page to boost your conversions.
Watch this short video to see how it works.
It's a powerful system and best of all you can try it
FREE.
Using ClickTale to boost conversions
ClickTale lets you watch the way people view your website
and how they move around it. This includes showing you where
they take their cursor which shows you which links get their
attention. You can also see how long they spend on different
parts of your page.
Do they focus only on the first paragraph, in which case you
are likely to have a high bounce rate.
Or do they scroll down the page all the way to the bottom,
in which case you've got engaged visitors.
Once you've watched a number of user interactions with
your site you'll start to see some trends. For example, you
might see that a lot of people part-complete a form but back
out frequently before completion. In that case you know you
need to test different form designs.
Perhaps very few people scroll down and see you order link.
In that case, test moving it to somewhere above the fold and
make it more prominent.
Want people to get in touch? Then see how many people hover
over your "Contact" link. If no-one does, you need to test a
new layout.
The beauty of ClickTale is that you don't have to watch
people in real time - you can replay visitor sessions anytime
you want. You can also see heat maps showing you which parts of
your pages get the most "eye time".
